The Fort Irwin Community Wellness/Readiness Program

You can make small changes in your daily routine to increase your physical activity. The American College of Sports Medicine suggests taking the stairs whenever you can, walking to a co-workers desk instead of emailing or calling him/her, picking up a new active hobby (e.g. cycling), standing or moving when talking on your cell phone - just to name a few.

The Army Wellness Center at the Resiliency Center

Open to the community and conveniently located in the Resiliency Center, one block from the hospital main facility, this new state-of-the-art Army Wellness Center (AWC) is designed to help Army community members (Soldiers and retirees, their families, and Army civilians) on Fort Irwin to live longer and healthier lives. Testing, primary prevention, preventing disease and injury before they occur, is key to refocusing Army medicine from a healthcare system to a system for health.

Nutrition counseling and various dietary programs are also available through the AWC.

Modern equipment, programs and services for a better, healthier life

The new wellness center will offer metabolic testing, fitness assessments, health programs, wellness coaching, massage chairs and a number of other health and fitness services. Such services outside post normally cost thousands of dollars but are made available at no charge to the Fort. Irwin community!
