Patient Advocate
A patient advocate is a representative that helps with your concerns or questions about services you get at a military hospital or clinic. Their responsibilities are to:
- Listen to your concerns.
- Address complaints about health care services you received.
- Explain military hospital or clinic policies.
- Mediate concerns between you and your provider.
Effective 1 June 2026, contingency support operations have been activated for the Patient Advocacy Program due to lack of Assigned Patient Advocate Resource and the need to ensure uninterrupted beneficiary support and continuity of service. Interim support will be provided by the CRDAMC (Charles R Darnall Army Medical Center)at Fort Hood, Texas.

Feedback Surveys
Weed Army Community Hospital also uses various assessments to monitor patient satisfaction. The Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES) combines and standardizes longstanding methods used by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Defense Health Agency to learn about beneficiary health care experiences with the goal of making them better.
The TRICARE Inpatient Satisfaction Survey (TRISS) is conducted to improve our inpatients' experiences by asking for their feedback after a recent hospital stay. Your feedback helps us identify which healthcare services are working well and which ones need improvement. By doing these surveys, we hope to improve the health care experiences of our patients.
