Clinic Spotlight: Department of Surgery and Rehabilitation

By Cherry Langston

The extensive range of services provided by Physical Therapy goes beyond just rehabilitative exercises. The diverse modalities offered include: trigger point/therapeutic dry needling (TDN), battlefield acupuncture (BFA), joint mobilization/manipulation, mechanical traction, personalized blood flow restriction (PBFR) therapy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). In addition, the Warrior Wellness and Holistic Health Hour (W2H3) program underscores our commitment to same-day access to our TDN, BFA and joint mobilization/manipulation services.

Our dedicated team boasts five Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPTs), a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), two Army physical therapy specialists, and two medical support assistants. Our skilled professionals hold board certifications in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, as well as advanced credentials as Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists and Therapeutic Pain Specialists. They leverage these skillsets to work collaboratively and provide the highest quality care.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources aligned with JVTMC and The Box Gym, we ensure our patients have access to the same level of equipment found in NCAA Division I or professional sports clinics. We have six Delfi personalized tourniquet systems, four Therm-X heat/cryotherapy machines, a Rogue sled, and a full complement of competition level weight training equipment (barbells, hexbar, etc). We also utilize dry needles and ASP gold semi-permanent needles in support of our TDN and BFA services, respectively.

Our proudest achievement is the restoration of physical therapy services to all beneficiaries as of April 2022, a milestone achieved amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We consistently meet high standards, evident in our successful triennial inspection by The Joint Commission and strategic training collaborations with institutions like the University of Southern California and CBD College.

At WACH Physical Therapy, we not only focus on patient care but also invest in the future of rehabilitation professionals. Our staff attend professional development courses, internships, and provide supporting observation hours for aspiring therapists.

Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based rehabilitation. Our mission is to restore individual function while addressing the complexities of the pain experience in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.

If you have any questions about our services, visit our front desk, or give us a call at (760) 383-5370/5371. We offer the W2H3 program Monday-Wednesday, and Friday from 1500-1600.

We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve you and contribute to your journey toward better health and wellness.
